Some partnerships are measured in transactions. The best ones are measured in the difference they make together over time.
This year, our partner Lifeskills Institute celebrates its 30th anniversary. For more than 20 of those years, PeopleKeys has had the privilege of walking alongside them. Lifeskills has chosen the theme "30 Years of Shared Journey" to mark the occasion, and we can't think of a better way to describe what we've built together.
From a small practice to a regional authority
Thirty years ago, Lifeskills started as a small practice in Singapore, guided by a simple conviction: that when people understand themselves and each other, everything else, such as performance, culture, and trust, follows.
Today, that belief has grown into something far larger. Lifeskills Institute is now PeopleKeys' Master Training & Certification Center in Asia, with a partner network spanning Hong Kong and mainland China, Malaysia, Cambodia, Brunei, and Indonesia. Through it all, the idea at the heart of their work has stayed the same: that people development changes organizations from the inside out.
A partnership built on shared belief
For us at PeopleKeys, this partnership has never been only about assessments or tools.
Together, we've helped individuals understand themselves more deeply, enabled teams to work better together, and equipped trainers, coaches, and practitioners across Singapore and the wider region. Tools like DISC and other behavioral assessments have given Lifeskills a way to turn insight into everyday impact for the leaders and teams they serve across Asia.
As Ian Tan, founder of Lifeskills Institute, reflects:
"20+ years ago, we set out to help leaders and organizations understand people better — not just their skills, but how they think, communicate, and lead. PeopleKeys has been a vital part of that journey, giving us tools like DISC and other behavioral assessments that turn insight into everyday impact for the leaders and teams we serve across Asia. All these years, our belief hasn't changed: when people understand themselves and each other, everything else — performance, culture, trust — follows."
Measured in people, not milestones
Ask Ian for a favorite memory from these years, and he won't point to a single event.
What stands out to him is how the partnership itself has grown. From first introducing DISC to clients, to building a thriving community of certified practitioners who continue to positively influence many others. Every consultant certified, every team that learns to communicate better, every leader who sees their people more clearly, becomes part of a ripple that extends far beyond any one program or workshop.
That is the real measure of these years: not the numbers, but the community that has grown around them.
"The 20+ years of partnership represents a shared journey with the people who believed in us, grew alongside us, and helped us make a difference. PeopleKeys has been an important part of that journey, enabling us to help people better understand themselves, appreciate others, and build stronger relationships at work and in life."
— Ian Tan, Chief Enabling Officer & Principal Consultant, Lifeskills Institute
Looking ahead
Thirty years on, Lifeskills' work continues with the same purpose it began with. Across Asia, individuals are still discovering their potential, teams are still learning to work better together, and a growing network of certified practitioners is still carrying these ideas into their own organizations and communities.
To Ian and the entire Lifeskills team: Congratulations on 30 years! We thank you for a shared journey that we are proud to be part of, and here's to the many more still to come.
